Camper Story - Savannah
Savannah's Camp Experience
I’ve been attending Camp Of The Woods since around the age of five or six. Each summer my family would take about three weeks to help out and volunteer at camp. At that age I was not able to be a camper, so I did what I could to help my parents and others with chores around camp and participating in camp activities. I was eagerly waiting to become a camper myself. I have many great memories of being out there with my family, and surrounded in a welcoming, loving, and Christian environment.

My very first year as a Camper was when I was seven. It was a bit challenging being apart from my family for so much time each day, even though they were helping at camp. I remember how understanding, kind, and thoughtful the staff were, welcoming each camper with open arms including myself. They were able to help me have an amazing experience at camp and create long lasting memories. Now, each year I look forward to attending camp as a camper. Every year I have a blast, and I have made many new friendships throughout the years at camp. I enjoy the activities at Camp, but most importantly learning more about God, and His love for us.
Now I’ve reached the age to serve as camp staff. The opportunity to be able to serve at camp, be immersed in God's love, and contribute to tasks around camp has been amazing, and I am extremely grateful. I look forward to sharing Christ's love with the campers, and sharing how wonderful God is. I want to help future campers to have just as much fun or more as I did when I was a camper. Camp Of The Woods has been an important part of my faith journey. The lessons I’ve learned, the memories I’ve gained, and the friendships I’ve created at camp have helped shape who I am today.
